This technology will reduce telephone charges compared to calls made on an analog telephone line. The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) signaling protocol allows telephone calls to be made over the Internet. In addition to telephony service, SIP technology supports other multimedia applications such as video, instant messaging, and other realtime data for interactive communication sessions. Installing the D-Link DVG-G1402S is as simple as plugging a telephone cord into the phone jack. With all the accessories and cables that are included with the DVG-G1402S, a complete installation can be completed in minutes. With its enhanced voice compression feature, the quality will be similar to voice calls made on standard analog telephone. Calls made through the DVG-G1402S will be clear and have echo cancellations to reduce voice delays which are seen on many other VoIP products. Users should not notice any difference from an analog telephone and the digital VoIP telephone. The 10/100 Fast Ethernet port can also be connected to a D-Link DSS-5+ switch (or any standard Fast Ethernet switch) allowing users to quickly and easily share an Internet connection with multiple computers and devices. The Fast Ethernet port on the DVG-G1402S automatically senses and accepts the type of CAT5 cable you attach - whether straight-through or crossover. For Network Administrators the DVG-G1402S's settings can be easily configured using the convenient and secure Web-based Interface. This feature allows administrators to reconfigure the DVG-G1402S while away from the device. Share your broadband Internet connection wirelessly using the DVG-G1402S VoIP router. The DVG-G1402S allows users to use a regular telephone
connected to the VoIP gateway to make voice calls over the
Internet. This technology will reduce telephone charges compared
