Powering the Active Subwoofer Your BP9000 speakers contain built-in powered subwoofers that must be plugged into an electrical socket. The BP9000 has a signal detection feature that only turns the amplifier on when a signal is present. The LED on the back will turn from Red to Blue when a signal is sensed. The "D." LED logo on the front will also turn on if enabled (see Definitive Technology "D." LED Logo section for more information). After the cessation of a signal, it may take up to 20 minutes for the amplifier to standby. Do not be concerned, the amplifiers draw little power when they are idle. Intelligent Bass Control™ Definitive Technology has long believed that the best loudspeaker is one that reproduces the full-range audio signal as precisely as possible. Our sonic signature allows you to not just hear what is on the screen, but to feel it as well. Intelligent Bass Control ™ is our latest advancement that gives you the ability to modulate deep bass up or down in level while simultaneously maintaining optimal mid-range clarity regardless of where the bass control is set. Simply rotate the dial on the back of the loudspeaker to your preferred bass setting and the speaker will do the rest of the work. That's it. We recommend starting at the mid-point and adjust to your preference from there. For advanced instructions on Intelligent Bass Control™ including integrating with room correction software (ex. Audyssey), please visit our website or give us a call. Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X® Compatibility All BP9000 floor speakers offer Dolby Atmos or DTS:X compatibility. The BP9080x integrates a height speaker module into the loudspeaker, whereas the BP9060, BP9040, and BP9020 offer a hidden, dedicated connector port (fits A90 speaker module- sold separately) that can be accessed by gently pushing down on the back of the magnetically-sealed, acoustically-treated aluminum top panel. Regardless of your setup, simply run additional speaker wire to the height channel binding posts on the back of the loudspeaker from any Dolby Atmos or DTS:X compatible set-up.
