1 Release notes These Release Notes are intended to supplement the Dell DR Series system documentation to provide last minute information available for the current release of the DR Series system software. For a complete list of available DR Series system documentation, see the topic, "Other Information You May Need," at the end of these Release Notes. The Release Notes contain details about the pre-installed system software on the Dell DR Series systems, including details about the latest updates, known issues and resolutions, and other information. NOTE: For instructions on configuring DR Rapid devices, see the Dell DR Series System Administrator Guide. Upgrade notes This topic contains important information for users who are upgrading to software version 3.2.0.2. NOTE: This release of the DR Series system software is intended for the DR2000v, DR4000, DR4100 and DR6000 systems. (It is not intended for use on the DR4300e, DR4300 or DR6300 systems.) • You can use NetVault Backup 9.2, 10.0, 10.01, 10.0.5, or 11.0 with this DR Series code release. If you need the latest RDA fixes, Dell recommends to use NetVault Backup 11.0 with release 3.2.0.2. NOTE: After installing NetVault Backup 11.0, ensure that the RDA plug-in integrated with NetVault Backup 11.0 is used, or install 3.2.0.2 plugins. • If you use NetBackup, you must set the optimized synthetic attribute flag on the disk pool if you want to implement optimized synthetic backups. This applies to containers created in 2.1 only. For details, see the topic, "Configuring NetBackup for Optimized Synthetic Backups," in the Dell DR Series System Administrator Guide. • If you are running the 3.0 or 3.1 driver for Rapid NFS and Rapid CIFS, you must update it to the 3.2.0.2 driver. The following information is for users who are upgrading from software version 2.1. • If you have the 2.x RDA with OST plug-in installed, you must uninstall it, and then install the 3.x version of the plug-in. This is because the name of the plug-in has changed since version 3.0.0.1. Checking system information Before troubleshooting issues with a DR Series system, ensure that the installed DR Series system software is up to date. The related drivers, software, and firmware are available at dell.com/support. To download the latest drivers and firmware for your system, follow the steps below: 1. Upgrade notes
This topic contains important information for users who are upgrading to software version 3.2.0.2.
NOTE:
This release of the DR Series system software is intended for the DR2000v, DR4000, DR4100 and DR6000
systems. (It is not intended for use on the DR4300e, DR4300 or DR6300 systems.)
You can use NetVault Backup 9.2, 10.0, 10.01, 10.0.5, or 11.0 with this DR Series code release. If you need the latest
RDA fixes, Dell recommends to use NetVault Backup 11.0 with release 3.2.0.2.
NOTE:
After installing NetVault Backup 11.0, ensure that the RDA plug-in integrated with NetVault Backup 11.0
is used, or install 3.2.0.2 plugins.
