Enable ICMP Echo Requests for iSCSI Initiators in Windows By default, Windows Firewall does not allow an incoming ICMP Echo message (also known as an ICMP Echo Request message). Dell recommends changing Firewall settings to allow ICMP echo for ICMPv4, or for ICMPv6 if using an IPv6 initiator.
