Prerequisites 1 Remove the battery. 2 Follow the procedure from step 1 to step 3 in "Removing the optical drive". 3 Remove the keyboard. 4 Follow the procedure from step 1 to step 7 in "Removing the base cover". Procedure 1 Open the latch and disconnect the I/O-board cable from the I/O board. 2 Remove the screw (M2x3) that secures the I/O board to the palm-rest assembly. 3 Push the securing tab to release the I/O board from the palm-rest assembly. 58
