Statement of Volatility - Dell OptiPlex 3020M CAUTION: A CAUTION indicates either potential damage to hardware or loss of data and tells you how to avoid the problem. The Dell OptiPlex 3020M contains both volatile and non-volatile (NV) components. Volatile components lose their data immediately upon removal of power from the component. Non-volatile components continue to retain their data even after the power has been removed from the component. The following volatile and NV components are present on the Dell OptiPlex 3020M motherboard: List below contains volatile and non-volatile memory ICs used in Dell OptiPlex 3020M. Description Embedded Flash memory in embedded controller SMSC SCH5553 System BIOS Reference Designator U19 U14 Volatility Description 96 K bytes non-volatile memory. 2 K bytes non-volatile memory for keyboard controller. Non Volatile memory, 64 Mbit (8 MB), System BIOS and Video BIOS for basic boot operation, PSA (onboard diags), PXE diags. User Accessible for external data No No Remedial Action (action necessary to lose data) N/A N/A TPM U23 4 K bytes non-volatile memory located No N/A in the TPM module. System Memory - DDR3 DIMM memory Connectors: DIMM1, DIMM2 Volatile memory in OFF state (see state Yes definitions later in text) One to Two modules must be populated. System memory size will depend on DIMM modules and must be between 2 GB and 16 GB. System On memory Non-volatile EEPROM memory. 2 K bits No memory SPD DIMM(s) - (256 bytes). One Device present on EEPROM one, two, each DIMM. present Stores memory-manufacturer data and timing information for correct operation of system memory. RTC CMOS Battery Volatile battery back-backed CMOS No memory 256 bytes. Stores CMOS information. Power off system. N/A Removing the on board coin-cell battery. Video UMA Volatile memory in off state. No memory - architecture- UMA uses main system memory size type - see uses system allocated out of main memory. next column DDR3. May 2014 Enter S3-S5 state below.
