About Warnings
WARNING:
A WARNING indicates a potential for property damage, personal injury,
or death.
Dell™ OptiPlex™ XE — Installing
Air-Ducts
You can install air-ducts on your Dell OptiPlex XE computer in a low-airflow
environment (like enclosed space) to ensure optimal performance. You can install
air-ducts on both the front and back of the computer.
WARNING:
Do not block, push objects into, or allow dust to accumulate in the air
vents. Restricting the airflow can damage the computer or cause a fire. The computer
turns on the fan when the computer gets hot. Fan noise is normal and does not indicate
a problem with the fan or the computer.
WARNING:
Before working inside your computer, read the safety information that
shipped with your computer. For additional safety best practices information, see the
Regulatory Compliance Homepage at www.dell.com/regulatory_compliance.
WARNING:
To guard against electrical shock, always unplug your computer from the
electrical outlet before removing the computer cover.
NOTE:
To find more information about removing and replacing parts on the computer,
see the
Service Manual
available on the
support.dell.com/manuals
.
NOTE:
You will have access to external power button routing, but will not have access
to the optical drive, front USB ports, and the 24V USB port on the back of the computer.
