Page 259 highlights

Broadcast, unknown multicast, and DLF packets are switched at a very low rate Symptom: Broadcast, unknown multicast, and DLF packets are switched at a very low rate. By default, broadcast storm control is enabled on an Aggregator and rate limits the transmission of broadcast, unknown multicast, and DLF packets to 1Gbps. This default behavior is designed to avoid unnecessarily flooding these packets on all (4094) VLANs on all Aggregator interfaces (default configuration). Resolution: Disable broadcast storm control globally on the Aggregator. Steps to Take: 1. Display the current status of broadcast storm control on the Aggregator (show io-aggregator broadcast storm-control status command). FTOS#show io-aggregator broadcast storm-control status Storm-Control Enabled Broadcast Traffic limited to 1000 Mbps 2. Disable broadcast storm control (no io-aggregator broadcast storm-control command) and re-display its status. Broadcast, unknown multicast, and DLF packets are switched
at a very low rate
Symptom
:
Broadcast, unknown multicast, and DLF packets are switched at a very low rate.
By default, broadcast storm control is enabled on an Aggregator and rate limits the transmission of
broadcast, unknown multicast, and DLF packets to 1Gbps. This default behavior is designed to avoid
unnecessarily flooding these packets on all (4094) VLANs on all Aggregator interfaces (default
configuration).
Resolution
:
Disable broadcast storm control globally on the Aggregator.
Steps to Take
:
1.
Display the current status of broadcast storm control on the Aggregator (
show io-aggregator broadcast
storm-control status
command).
2.
Disable broadcast storm control (
no io-aggregator broadcast storm-control
command) and re-display its
status.
