PowerConnect M8024 Release Notes User's Guide Updates Configuring Dell PowerConnect Title Configuring an initial HTTPS password Description The example in the user guide is incomplete. Issuing the first command drops the user to the 'config-crypto-cert' config mode. At this point, just exiting back to config is not enough to allow https to get enabled. The user must enter values for common-name and country before exiting. This will allow https server to be enabled when issuing "ip https server" at global config mode. console(config)# console(config)#conf console(config)#crypto certificate 1 generate console(config-crypto-cert)#common-name 10.127.255.231 console(config-crypto-cert)#country us console(config-crypto-cert)#duration 364 console(config-crypto-cert)#location Austin console(config-crypto-cert)#organization-unit Dell console(config-crypto-cert)#state tx console(config-crypto-cert)#exit console(config)#ip https server console(config)#end console(config)# Configuring Ports Title Port Configuration page, Admin Port Speed Port Configuration page, Admin Advertisement Description The description of the Admin Port Speed field on the Port Configuration page incorrectly states that "For the PowerConnect M8024, the only available speed is 10000 Mbps." In reality, the PowerConnect M8024 also supports port speeds of 1000 Mbps. The description of the Admin Advertisement field on the Port Configuration page states that the 10000 Full value indicates that the port is advertising a 1000 Mbps speed, which is incorrect. The 10000 Full value indicates that the port is advertising a 10000 Mbps speed. Page 5
