NetWare server, these changes will not be propagated to the 705N immediately. You may need to wait up to 15-20 minutes for your changes to appear on the 705N’s Network Share Access page. Note, however, that this is not a problem when users try to login to the 705N, as the user’s credentials are authenticated directly by the external NetWare server. Using Novell networking backup applications For greater compatibility, performance, and reliability, DELL strongly recommends that you upgrade to the latest version of the NetWare backup application. The 705N supports the following Novell networking backup applications: • Computer Associates® ARCserve®IT™ (or Chey- enne ARCserve) for NetWare • Veritas™ Backup Exec™ (or Seagate Backup Exec) for NetWare The 705N has not been tested with any other NetWare backup applications that are compatible with Novell’s SMS (Storage Management System) and TSA (Target Service Agent) protocols. When using Novell networking backup applications on a 705N, you need to be aware of the following issues: • Backups may fail because of the 705N’s 250-user license. By default, the 705N is configured for 250 Novell networking users. If you licensed your backup software (ARCserve or Backup Exec) for a smaller number of users, the application will not allow you to backup the 705N, as this would constitute a licensing violation. You need to reduce the number of Novell networking users to match your backup software’s licensing restrictions. This is done with a Web browser, from the Novell Networking Advanced Settings page.
