Creating Your First Backup Starting DataKeeper 1 Start Windows. DataKeeper is launched automatically at startup. The DataKeeper program icon appears in the system tray. If DataKeeper does not launch at startup, you can start the program manually. From the Start menu on the Windows taskbar, click Programs ➤ PowerQuest ➤ PowerQuest DataKeeper PVE.
