Some scanners which support Distributed File System (DFS) fail to connect to an SMB share on Unity. After deleting a large amount of data from a file system, the space cannot be reclaimed. SFTP intermittently disconnects with an error when transferring a large file. Users may be unable to access SMB shares when many logon requests occur from users belonging to multiple groups. In rare cases, when a heavy load of I/O and a shrink operation are both running, I/O stops responding because no space is available, and a storage processor reboots.
