Option Intel Ready Mode Description This option enables the capability of Intel Ready Mode technology. POST behavior screen options Option Numlock LED Keyboard Errors Fastboot Description Specifies if the NumLock function can be enabled when the system boots. This option is enabled by default. Specifies whether keyboard related errors are reported when it boots. This option is enabled by default. Allows you to speed up the boot process by bypassing some of the compatibility steps. The options are: • Minimal • Through (default) • Auto Virtualization support screen options Option Virtualization Description Allows you to enable or disable the Intel Virtualization Technology. Enable Intel Virtualization Technology (default). VT for Direct I/O Enables or disables the Virtual Machine Monitor (VMM) from utilizing the additional hardware capabilities provided by Intel® Virtualization technology for direct I/O. Enable VT for Direct I/O - enabled by default. Maintenance screen options Option Service Tag Asset Tag SERR Messages BIOS Downgrade Description Displays the Service Tag of your computer. Allows you to create a system asset tag if an asset tag is not already set. This option is not set by default. Controls the SERR message mechanism. This option is enabled by default. Some graphics cards require that the SERR message mechanism be disabled. This controls flashing of the system firmware to previous revisions. • Data Wipe • Wipe on Next boot • BIOS recovery • BIOS recovery from the hard drive Follow the procedure to recover BIOS from hard drive. 1 Power on the system. 2 While the blue Dell logo is visible, press the F2 key to enter the System Setup. 3 Press the Num Lock key, and verify that the Num Lock light is on.
