Personal Audio System S-81 Main Unit s Simple, compact design with versatile connectivity and ease of use inherited from Denon's S series The S-81 has been built on the design concept inherited from Denon's S-301 home theater system that was released last year and has since received considerable acclaim. This design features ease of operation combined with a visually pleasing appearance in a round form that integrates the main unit and speakers. The front panel on the main unit is made of tactile aluminum, and the control keys have been arranged in a layout that make them easy to find even for beginners. The speaker output terminals have a unique shape with easy-to-handle one-touch cable connection jacks that are color-coded for the Left and Right channels. s High-power 50W+50W digital amp The compact body of the main unit houses a robust 50W+50W power amp. Despite its compact size, this amp reproduces music through the speakers with considerable detail and power on a rock-stable foundation. The amp also has a built-in Speaker Optimize filter circuit that takes maximum advantage of the speakers' characteristics to ensure high-grade audio reproduction from the overall system. s iPod® support The front panel includes a port for connecting Apple Computer's iPod music player via a dedicated cable that comes with the S-81. iPod playback versatility can be expanded by connecting Denon's separately available ASD-1R iPod Control Dock to a dedicated control port and other terminals on the rear panel. With the ASD-1R, the user can enjoy not only music from the iPod but also video on a TV monitor, and the remote control unit that comes with the S-81 can be used to control the iPod.* *Supports 3rd-generation and later iPods equipped with a dock connector. Some features may not work depending on the version of the software used. s Analog Music Input, for connecting a portable player The front panel also provides a mini-jack input terminal for connecting a portable digital or analog audio player and enjoying music from the player in high sound quality. s MP3 and WMA audio files supported The S-81 plays MP3 and WMA audio files stored on CD-R or CD-RW discs*. Music libraries on computers or portable digital audio players can also easily be enjoyed through the S-81.
