Specifications Reversing the shredder If too many papers are inserted, the shredder will stop, and you must reverse the shredder to back out the jammed paper. To reverse the shredder: • Push the switch to REV. Emptying the waste basket You should empty the waste basket as soon as it gets full, or the shredder may become jammed with paper scraps. Caution: Do not pack the shredded paper into the basket to avoid emptying it. Do not kick or drop the basket. To empty the waste basket: 1 Check the clear window on the front of the waste basket to make sure the basket is full, then remove the shredder unit from the waste basket. Tip: To make it easier to remove the shredder unit, grasp the handles on the waste basket while lifting the shredder unit away from the basket. Handle Clear window Handle 2 Empty the wastebasket. 3 Place the shredder unit back onto the waste basket. Important: The shredder unit should be placed correctly, or the shredder will not work. Important: If the shredder has been used while the waste basket was full, the shredder may generate extra noise because of paper scraps adhering to the cutter blades. You can disregard the noise, because the shredder's operation is not adversely affected.
