TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE Should this unit exhibit a problem, check the following before seeking service. Symptom Radio Noise or sound distorted on radio broadcasts. AM or FM, no sound. Compact Disc Player CD Player will not play. CD skips while playing. General No sound. Possible Cause Station not tuned properly for AM or FM. FM: Telescopic antenna is not properly adjusted. AM: Unit is not positioned correctly. FUNCTION switch not set to RADIO. Volume at minimum. FUNCTION switch not set to CD. CD is not installed or installed upside-down. Disc is dirty or scratched. Power cord disconnected. No batteries, or weak, dead or inserted incorrectly. Solution Retune the AM or FM broadcast station. Reorient FM telescopic antenna. Rotate unit until best reception is obtained. Set FUNCTION switch to RADIO. Increase volume. Set FUNCTION switch to CD. Insert CD with label side up. Wipe disc with cloth or use another disc.
