Adding Memory Modules Your computer comes with 4MB of memory soldered directly onto the main system board. By installing 4MB SIMMs (single inline memory modules), you can increase the memory in your computer up to 16MB. Caution It is best to have your dealer install memory modules for you because they can be damaged easily if installed incorrectly. If you prefer, you can install them yourself by carefully following the instructions in this section. However, you could transmit an electrostatic discharge and damage your components; so read this entire section before you begin. Before you install SIMMs, check the following guidelines to ensure that they will work properly: P Use only 4MB fast page mode SIMMs that operate at an access speed of 80ns (nanoseconds) or faster. Be sure all the SIMMs operate at the same speed.
