Chromatic Clip Tuner User's Manua Thank you very much for purchasing the Fender® FT-004 Headstock Tuner. Please read this manual carefully and retain for future reference. GENERAL CARE AND MAINTENANCE APPEARANCE AND SKETCH a. Never use an alcohol or chemical cleaner to wipe the exterior or the LCD. Use a clean, dry cloth to wipe LCD clean as needed. b. For optimal performance and life of product, do not use excessive.force to adjust, move or remove the tuner from the instrument. See instructions below. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USAGE Default factory setting: A 440. 1. Power button instructions a. Power unit on: Gently press power button and LCD will light. Unit enters default A 440 tuning mode and is ready for use. b. Power unit off: Hold power button and LCD will turn-off indicating the unit is powered down. c. While unit is powered on, if no signal or usage is detected within one minute, unit will power down automatically. d. Mode Change: Press power key shortly for changing: Chromatic/ Guitar-Bass-Violin-Ukulele. 2. Tuning 1. Clip the tuner on headstock of the instrument you wish to tune and adjust LCD for easy observation. 2. Tuner automatically detects the tone and displays the corresponding note on the LCD. a. When the note name and corresponding string achieve a like pitch, LCD needle will point to the middle indicating the note is in tune. b. When the note name and corresponding string achieve an incorrect pitch (SHARP OR FLAT), needle will point left for "FLAT", needle will point right for "SHARP"'. Adjust tuning on the instrument, per string to achieve LCD needle pointing to middle for in tune performance. Replacing the battery Battery type: CR2032 a. Confirm correct polarity when replacing with a new battery. b. If the tuner is malfunctioning, remove the battery and reinstall to reset unit to original Manufacturer settings. c. Replace the battery when the LCD lights get dim. d.
