Chapter 2 BIOS Description 5.PCI/PNP Resource Management PCI/PNP Resource Management Menu 5.1 IRQ & DMA Settings Press to enter the IRQ and DMA setup. The available setting values: IRQ 3/4/5/7/9/10/11/14/15, DMA Channel 0/1/3/5/6/7. 5.2 Plug & Play O/S This item is used to set the plug and play function for your OS. [No]: Lets the BIOS configure all the devices in the system. [Yes]: Lets the operating system configure plug and play devices not required for boot if your system has a plug and play operating system. 5.3 PCI Latency Timer This item is used to set the PCI latency timer. The value is in units of PCI clock for PCI device latency timer register. 5.4 Allocate IRQ to PCI VGA This item is used to set if allocate IRQ to PCI VGA. [Yes]: Assigns IRQ to PCI VGA card if card requests IRQ. [No]: Does not assign IRQ to PCI VGA card even if card requests an IRQ. 5.5 Palette Snooping This item is used to set whether the palette snooping is enabled. 5.6 PCI IDE BusMaster This item, when enabled, the BIOS can use PCI bus mastering for reading/ writing to IDE drives. 27

5.1 IRQ & DMA Settings
Press <Enter> to enter the IRQ and DMA setup. The available setting values:
IRQ 3/4/5/7/9/10/11/14/15, DMA Channel 0/1/3/5/6/7.

This item is used to set the plug and play function for your OS.
[No]: Lets the BIOS configure all the devices in the system.
[Yes]: Lets the operating system configure plug and play devices not required

This item is used to set the PCI latency timer. The value is in units of PCI clock

This item is used to set if allocate IRQ to PCI VGA.
[Yes]: Assigns IRQ to PCI VGA card if card requests IRQ.
