Open the drain cover at the side of the unit and take out drainage joint from the top of the styrofoam packaging. (fig.1) b. Screw the drainage joint onto the threaded portion of the drainage connector of the unit securely. (fig.2&3) c. Screw the garden hose onto the threaded portion of the drainage joint. (fig.4) fig. 1 fig. 2 fig. 3 d. Make sure the hose is secure so there are no leaks. e. Direct the hose toward the drain, making sure that there are no kinks that will stop the water flowing. (fig.5) f. When you want to remove the garden hose, prepare a drip tray (not supplied) to collect the water from the nozzle.(fig.6) fig. 4 fig. 5 fig. 6 NOTE: 1. Screw the hose onto the drainage connector of the unit directly or through the drainage joint, continuous drainage option will automatically start. 2. Check the seal between the hose and the drainage joint. If there is a small leak then replace the hose gasket and re-tighten the hose. 3. It is recommended that a Dehumidifier Drain Hose - 11/16" (17.5 mm) or larger be used. 4. When applying continuous drainage option, place dehumidifier on a horizontal surface and make sure garden hose is clear of any obstructions and directed downward. Improper installation or use of hose may result in water filling up the bucket and causing the unit to shut off. Empty water bucket if shut-off occurs, then check dehumidifier location and hose for proper installation. (fig.7) 5. To quit continuous drainage option and collect water using the bucket, you need to remove the garden hose and take out draingage joint to avoid leakage, then put the drain cover back. 6.
