PREPARING TOASTER FOR FIRST USE 1 Carefully unpack the contents from the box and check to make sure all accessories are accounted for, and that the Toaster and accessories appear to be free of any physical damage. If you discover any damage, or missing parts, please contact our customer service department at 1-888-845-7330 prior to plugging the unit in. 2 Remove any printed material or tape from the Toaster, and then inspect the interior by looking down into the slots to make sure there are no packaging materials, or foreign objects inside the Toaster. Do not probe the inside of the Toaster with any metal object. 3 Turn the Toaster over and unwrap as much of the cord as necessary to adequately reach the electrical outlet, and then plug the unit in. 4 On the control panel, press the up arrow repeatedly until the Pro-Select® LCD display is set to the highest setting of "7". 5 Without placing any bread products in the Toaster, push the Effortless™ Lift-Out Lever down until it locks into place. The Toaster will heat up to toasting temperatures and run for approximately 4 minutes. Repeat this process again for a second time. You may detect some light smoke or odor. This is normal and why we recommend running the first cycle or 2 without bread products. 6 Your new Toaster is now ready for normal use. 8
