UNPACKING YOUR PERSONAL ALARM IMPORTANT! Remove batteries before storing Before attempting to use yourPersonalKey the Alarm for extended periods. Depleted Push to test batteries or activate light light (4)LR44batteries(included). Testthe batteries batteries should be removed from the unit and bypressing thepushbutton on the leftside of disposed of properly. the unit Replace the batteries once the red lightdoesnotilluminate. Averagebatterylife for typicalusage is6months. 1. Access the battery compartment by removing the three screws on the back of the unit and separating the front and back halves. OPERATION OF ALARM (see figure on page 3) 1. To activate siren, hold alarm in one hand and pull on cord with the other, pulling metal pin out of alarm body. 2. To stop the siren, insert the metal pin back into the alarm body. 2. Insert (4) LR44 button batteries noting polarity. OPERATION OF LIGHT 1. Press and hold pushbutton on left side of unit 3. Replace halves and secure Red light will illuminate. with screws. DO NOT USE IN WET LOCATIONS. 1 2 3 WARNING Limitations of Alarm Products This product should be tested weekly to make sure it is working properly. The product, if used properly, may reduce the risk of burglary, robbery, fire, or other adverse events. Like any alarm product, including expensive commercial systems, it may be bypassed, it is subjectto compromise, and it may fail to warn for a variety of reasons, including, but not limited to: 4 improper installation or positioning; improper maintenance; tampering; dead or improperly installed batteries; sensing limitations; component failures; smoke may not reach detectors; for wireless systems, the functional range may be adversely affected by certain environmental conditions, radio frequency interference and obstructions between the transmitters and receivers; for systems using telephone lines, the lines may be out of service or disrupted; for infrared products, intrusions may be outside of a product's designed range and certain environmental conditions may impact performance and audible alarm signals may be outside of hearing range, muted by doors, walls, and floors, unheard by deep sleepers or the hearing-impaired, or overwhelmed by other sounds. 5 Personal Security Alarm User's Manual AWARNING Risk of personal injury • Prolonged exposure to alarm siren may cause permanent hearing loss Questions?
