Using the flash Press the Right/Flash button to go to the flash setting menu. Press Up/Down button to switch between the six flash modes. • Auto flash Camera flash fires automatically based on existing light conditions. • Red-eye reduction The camera fires a brief flash before the picture is taken to reduce red-eye effects. • Forced flash Flash always fires. • Forced off Flash is turned off. • Slow Synchro This allows you to take pictures of people at night that clearly show both your subjects and the night time backdrop. • Red-Eye + Slow Synchro Use this mode for slow synchro shots with red-eye reduction. Using the self-timer/Multiple shots To enable the self-timer, press the Right/Flash button then Left/Right button to go to the self-timer setting menu. Choose between the 2-sec, 10-sec, Continuous Shot, or Self-timer Off by using the Up/Down button. • 2-second timer A single picture is shot 2 seconds after the shutter button is pressed. • 10-second timer A single picture is shot 10 seconds after the shutter button is pressed. • Continuous shot Pictures are shot continuously when the shutter button is pressed down based on the Continuous Shot settings in the menu. (See "Continuous Shot" on page 48). • Self-timer Off Disable the self-timer. 19

Using the flash

Auto flash

Red-eye reduction
The camera fires a brief flash before the picture is
taken to reduce red-eye effects.
Forced flash
Flash always fires.
Forced off
Flash is turned off.
Slow Synchro
This allows you to take pictures of people at night
that clearly show both your subjects and the night
time backdrop.
Red-Eye + Slow Synchro
Use this mode for slow synchro shots with red-eye
reduction.
Using the self-timer/Multiple shots
To enable the self-timer, press the Right/Flash button then
Left/Right button to go to the self-timer setting menu. Choose
between the 2-sec, 10-sec, Continuous Shot, or Self-timer Off
by using the Up/Down button.
2-second timer
A single picture is shot 2 seconds after the shutter
button is pressed.
10-second timer
A single picture is shot 10 seconds after the shutter
button is pressed.
Continuous shot
Pictures are shot continuously when the shutter
button is pressed down based on the Continuous
Shot settings in the menu. (See “Continuous Shot”
on page 48).
Self-timer Off
Disable the self-timer.
