Problem Burners have yellow or yellow-tipped flames Possible Causes The combustion quality of burner flames needs to be determined visually. What To Do • Use the illustrations below to determine if your burner flames are normal . If burner flames look like A, call for service . Normal burner flames should look like B or C, depending on the type of gas you use . With LP gas, some yellow tipping on outer cones is normal . A-Yellow flames B-Yellow tips C-Soft blue flames Call for service on outer cones Normal for natural Normal for LP gas gas Control knobs will not turn Knob isn't pushed down. • To turn from the OFF position, push the knob down and then turn . Burners do not light Plug on cooktop is not completely inserted in the electrical outlet. Gas supply not connected or turned on. A fuse in your home may be blown or the circuit breaker tripped. Burner parts not replaced correctly. The electrodes under the burners are soiled. The white ceramic electrodes are not securely seated under the burners. Cooktop is locked.
