8) U2_32G (U.2 Connector) The U.2 connector supports a single U.2 device. Please note that an U.2 SSD cannot be used to create a RAID set either with an M.2 SATA SSD or a SATA hard drive. To create a RAID array with an U.2 SSD, you must set up the configuration in UEFI BIOS mode. Refer to Chapter 3, "Configuring a RAID Set," for instUructions on configuring a RAID B_ array. Installation Notices for the PCIEX4, U2_32G, M2O_32G, SATA, SATA Express Connectors: Due to the limited number of lanes provided by the Chipset, the availability of the SATA connectors and their accompanying SATA Express connectors may be affected by the type of devices installed in the PCIEX4, U2_32G, and M2O_32G connectors. The following tables provide details on the availability of the SATA and SATA Express connectors when one or two of the PCIEX4, U2_32G, and M2O_32G connectors are populated. Table 1: When only one of PCIEX4, U2_32G, and M2O_32G is populated
Example:
When M2O_32G is installed with a SATA-based SSD and PCIEX4, U2_32G are empty, SATA
ports 2,3 become unavailable.
(Note 1)
When PCIEX4 is installed with a PCIe x4 SSD, the SATA3 0/1 connectors become unavailable.
(Note 2) Other PCIe devices include PCIe graphics cards, LAN cards, TV cards, RAID cards, Wi-Fi cards, etc.
(Note 3) When an M.2 SSD is installed, the U.2 connector becomes unavailable.
