122 Getting Connected Setting Internet options Customize the Internet application to suit your browsing lifestyle. Set display, privacy, and security options when using Internet. On the Internet screen, press MENU, and then tap More > Settings. 6.6 Using your phone as a modem (tethering) Get online with your notebook or desktop computer at any time, using your phone's data connection. You need to install HTC Sync before you can use your phone as a modem. Refer to "Using HTC Sync" in Chapter 9 for details. 1. Make sure that the data connection is turned on. To check, press HOME ( ) > MENU, tap Settings > Wireless & networks, and then check if the Mobile network check box is selected. 2. Connect the phone to the computer using the provided USB cable. 3. On the Connect to PC screen, select Internet sharing, and then tap Done. When you are using your phone as a modem, the USB mass storage feature is disabled, and you are also not able to use HTC Sync. 6.7 Using Bluetooth Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communications technology that allows Bluetooth devices to exchange information over a distance of about 26 feet (8 meters) without requiring a physical connection. On the Internet screen, press MENU, and then tap

6.6 Using your phone as a modem (tethering)
Get online with your notebook or desktop computer at any time, using
your phone’s data connection. You need to install HTC Sync before
you can use your phone as a modem. Refer to “Using HTC Sync” in
Chapter 9 for details.
Make sure that the data connection is turned on. To check, press
HOME (
) > MENU, tap Settings > Wireless & networks, and
then check if the
Mobile network
check box is selected.
Connect the phone to the computer using the provided USB
cable.
On the Connect to PC screen, select
Internet sharing
, and then
tap
Done
.
