14 Quick start guide Adding favorite contacts to the People screen 1. Press and hold the BACK/HOME button to return to the Home screen, and then slide to the People screen. 2. Tap an empty slot. 3. Select a contact. 4. On the Default action screen, choose what contact method to use for the favorite contact (phone call, text message, or email). 7. Access applications on your phone See what applications your phone has in store for you. From the main Home screen, press the BACK/HOME button to open the All Programs panel and check out what applications you can use. Slide left to scroll the panel sideways and access more applications. 8. Get your messages across Keep in touch with important people in your life. Sending a text message 1. From the main Home screen, slide to the Messages screen. 2. Press MENU, and then tap New to create a new text message. 3. Tap the text box that says "Tap to add recipient," and then enter a contact name or mobile phone number. 4. Tap the Message area, and then enter your message. 5. Tap Send.
