38 Quick Start Guide 27. Synchronizing Your Phone with Your Computer Set up synchronization software on your computer On a Windows XP computer, you need to use Microsoft ActiveSync® 4.5 or later. On a Windows Vista® computer, you need to use Microsoft Windows Mobile® Device Center. If you do not have the software on your computer, go to the following website for information on downloading and installing Microsoft ActiveSync or Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center to your computer: http://www.windowsmobile.com/getstarted. To sync your phone with a Windows XP computer 1. Connect your phone to your computer using the supplied USB cable. The Synchronization Setup Wizard automatically starts and guides you to create a synchronization partnership. Click Next. 2. Clear the Synchronize directly with a server running Microsoft Exchange check box, and then click Next. 3. Select the information you want to sync, and then click Next. 4. Select whether or not to allow wireless data connections on your phone while it is connected to the computer, and then click Next. 5. Click Finish. To sync your phone with a Windows Vista computer 1. Connect your phone to your computer using the supplied USB cable. Windows Mobile Device Center opens. On the screen, click Set up your device. 2. Select the information you want to sync and click Next. 3. Enter the name for your phone, and then click Set Up.
