To clean the inside of your freezer compartment, use a piece of soft, clean cloth dampened in lukewarm water mixed with a mild detergent. Never use corrosive materials (scouring cleansers, washing powder, bleach, etc.) or hot water. After cleaning, wipe dry with another piece of soft, clean cloth. Oil, juice and other liquids stick easily to the sealing strip. Clean with a soft, clean cloth dampened in lukewarm water. Going on Vacation Your freezer should not be left unused for an extended period of time. However,if your freezer will be unused for a short time,take out all the food inside. • Turn the temperature control dial to "1"(Lowest) position and unplug your freezer. 0 iO O 0 OUTSIDE Clean the outside of your freezer with a solution of warm water and liquid soap then dry and polish with a soft, clean cloth. Use appliance wax or liquid polish for qppliances to clean and protect your freezer's paint finish. Do not use dirty cloth (residue will corrode the paint), scouring pads or bleach cleaners (will scratch and weaken paint finish). Do not put heavy or hot objects on your freezer lid. • Clean the inside with baking soda solution and wipe dry. • Leave the lid open for 1 to 2 days to allow the inside to dry further. • Prevent odors by leaving an open box of baking soda or a piece of charcoal inside the freezer. • You may put a cloth sheet over the freezer to prevent accumulation of dust and mildew on the sealing strip. ------- .1.51-1, •• 8 ------ CHARCOAL USE OF AN EXTENSION CORD Do not use an extension cord to plug your freezer into the electrical outlet. There are potential safety hazards in the use of one. aO 0 Operation TEMPERATURE CONTROL Your freezer is equipped with a temperature control dial with five different settings that allow you to regulate the temperature inside your freezer. 1 Warm,unit has minimum load 2 Use when unit is less than half full 3 Normal 4 Use when unit is more than half full 5 Coldest,unit is fully loaded Do not let your freezer run on this setting for more than two (2) hours. Always reset temperature control dial to "3" (Normal). ELECTRICAL NOTES Always plug your freezer into its own individaul electrical outlet (220 Volts / 60Hertz, single phase AC).This is recommended to optimize the unit's performance and to prevent overloading of electrical wiring circuits,which in tum could cause fire hazards. The product warranty provisions do not cover defects resulting from operating your unit outside this indicated normal voltage range. 0 0 0 Li° I l=l= 4 QUICK-FREEZER FRATURE The"Quick-Freeze" feature allows you to freeze foods quickly when initially turning on the freezer or when you have added a lot of food to the freezer at once time. Filp the yellow switch for quick-freeze and the compressor will run continuously. Turn the quickfreeze feature off once food has reached desired temperature. DEFROSING Too much frost inside the freezer hampers the cooling efficiency of your unit. When frost on the freezer walls is over 6 to 8 mm thick your freezer needs defrosted. Simply follow this easy defrosting procedure: 5
