Draining the Dehumidifier AWARNING Sickness Hazard Do not drink water collected in water bucket. Doing so can result in sickness. 1. Remove the drain hose and drain tube from the dehumidifier bucket. Option 1 -Remove Bucket If a floor drain is not available, or you do not plan to drain your dehumidifier continuously, you may want to simply empty the bucket. 1. Use the side handles to remove the bucket. Drain tube (16 ft [4.9 m] length) 2. Insert the drain tube fitting into the drain pump connector located on the back of the dehumidifier. "`, 2. Pour the water through the opening into a sink or tub. 3. Push the drain tube fitting in as far as it will go. I (1 4. Check that the drain tube fitting has snapped into position. 5. Place the other end of the drain tube into a suitable drainage location like a drain, sink or sump pump pit. The water can be pumped up to 14 vertical feet. Do not use a longer tube than the one provided with the dehumidifier. 6. To remove the drain tube, press the button above the drain pump connector while pulling the drain tube fitting away from the drain pump connector. 3. Reinstall the bucket. IMPORTANT: If the Bucket Full indicator light comes on, the dehumidifier will not operate. Empty or adjust the bucket. Option 2 -Connect Drain Tube to Drain Pump (Models HM50EP, HM70EP only) If you plan to run your dehumidifier continuously, and you need a longer drain hose or the drain location is above the dehumidifier, you may want to attach the 16 ft (4.9 m) long drain tube (provided) to the drain pump connector on the back of the dehumidifier. When the water level inside the bucket reaches the correct level, the drain pump automatically pumps the water to the drain. 7
