Upgrading the disk drive firmware Upgrading disk drive firmware is not supported with array-based management. Use HP Command View EVA server-based management to upgrade the disk drive firmware. For additional information on disk drive firmware upgrades, see the HP StorageWorks 4400 Enterprise Virtual Array updating product software guide (XCS 09006000). Using the HP Command View EVA restore CD Use the HP Command View EVA restore CD (included with the HP Command View EVA 8.1 software suite) if you need to re-install either the server-based management or array-based management version of the software. For server-based management, use the HP StorageWorks Command View EVA Software Suite.exe file. For array-based management, use the ABM1.1.pkg file. HP Storage System Scripting Utility For array-based management, you can only use HP Storage System Scripting Utility if it is installed on a host that can communicate with HP Command View EVA. IMPORTANT: HP Storage Systems Scripting Utility is not released with HP Command View 8.1. HP recommends using version 8.0.2 for Windows platforms and version 8.0 for non-Windows platforms. Limitations • The following commands will not be functional from HP Storage System Scripting Utility when used with HP Command View EVA 8.1: • CODELOAD • CODELOAD DISK • IMPORT LICENSES • EXPORT LICENSES All operations except CODELOAD DISK can be performed from the HP Command View EVA GUI. • HP Storage System Scripting Utility will not be able to log in to HP Command View EVA if HP Command View EVA has a blank password for the administrator or user. HP recommends that you create a password for the administrator or user. • On an OpenVMS IA64 host, the CAPTURE CONFIGURATION command fails if you have one of the following characters in the name or comment field of an object (such as a disk group or a virtual disk HP StorageWorks Command View EVA 8.1 release notes 5
