9 Insert a flat-head screwdriver into the slot on the back of the scanner. The slot is located above the ADF port between the top cover and the base. Pry the top cover up with a screwdriver. flat-head screwdriver being inserted between base and top cover remove the top cover After unlatching the top cover, you are ready to remove it. top cover being lifted up 10 Carefully lift the top cover off the base. Turn the top cover upside down and set it on a clean surface
