USB problems the error message "there was an error writing to LPT1" appears The USB cable may not have been attached before installing the software. Uninstall, then reinstall, the software. To uninstall the software: q Click here. -or- q Click Start > Programs > Hewlett-Packard > [hp deskjet] > uninstall software, then follow the onscreen instructions. the error message "there was an error writing to " appears The printer may not be receiving correct data from another USB device or the hub. Connect the printer directly to the USB port on the computer. there are conflicting USB cable connections A printing conflict may arise when the printer and several USB devices are attached to a hub. There are two methods for resolving the conflict: q Attach the printer's USB cable directly to the computer. -or- q If the printer is attached to a hub, do not use other USB devices attached to the hub while printing.
