Installing Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 4.0 on Compaq Armada E700, M700, E500, M300, and V300 4 Important Notes • Make sure that the system is undocked and no PC Cards are in the PCMCIA slots when installing the drivers.1 • These SoftPaq numbers are the minimum required for Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 4.0. They may be superseded, as noted on the Compaq website. • Do not set up any networking components. Contact the Network Administrators and have them properly set up the networking portions of Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 4.0. • After all of the additional software programs and drivers have been installed, update the Emergency Repair Disk by running the RDISK program. Installation of Compaq Drivers and Enhancements The drivers are grouped into three profile categories: • Basic-Identifies those software components that enable all of the internal hardware and provide functionality in a stand-alone environment. • Enhanced-Provides additional features and support for optional hardware. • Full-Adds manageability features.
