2 External component identification Display Item Component Description (1) WLAN antennas (2)* Send and receive wireless signals to communicate with WLANs. NOTE: The position of the WLAN antennas may differ, depending on model. (2) WWAN antennas (2)* Send and receive wireless signals to communicate with WWANs. NOTE: The antennas are not visible from the outside of the device. For optimal transmission, keep the areas immediately around the antennas free from obstructions. For wireless regulatory notices, see the section of the Regulatory, Safety, and Environmental Notices that applies to your country or region. (3) Internal microphone Records sound. (4) Webcam Records video, captures still photographs, and allows video conferences and online chat by means of streaming video. (5) Webcam light On: The webcam is in use. (6) Internal display switch Turns off the display or initiates Sleep if the display is closed while the power is on. NOTE: The display switch is not visible from the outside of the computer. *The antennas, IR emitters (select models only), and sensors are not visible from the outside of the computer.
