HP printing and imaging equipment marked with the ENERGY STAR® logo is qualified to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR specifications for imaging equipment. The following mark will appear on ENERGY STAR qualified imaging products: Additional ENERGY STAR qualified imaging product model information is listed at: www.hp.com/go/energystar Toner consumption EconoMode uses less toner, which might extend the life of the print cartridge. HP does not recommend the fulltime use of EconoMode. If EconoMode is used full-time, the toner supply might outlast the mechanical parts in the print cartridge. If print quality begins to degrade and is no longer acceptable, consider replacing the print cartridge. Paper use This product's duplex feature (manual or automatic) and N-up printing (multiple pages printed on one page) capability can reduce paper usage and the resulting demands on natural resources. Plastics Plastic parts over 25 grams are marked according to international standards that enhance the ability to identify plastics for recycling purposes at the end of the product's life. 32 Chapter 2 Environmental product stewardship program ENWW

when these emissions data are applied to an anticipated high-use scenario in an office workspace**, HP has
determined there is no appreciable amount of ozone generated during printing and the levels are well within
current indoor air quality standards and guidelines.
* Test method for the determination of emissions from hardcopy devices with respect to awarding the
environmental label for office devices with printing function; DE-UZ 205 – BAM January, 2018
** Based on ozone concentration when printing 2 hours per day in 30.6 cubic meter room with a ventilation rate
of 0.68 air changes per hour with HP printing supplies
Power consumption
Power usage drops significantly while in Ready, Sleep, or Off mode, which saves natural resources and saves
money without affecting the high performance of this product. HP printing and imaging equipment marked with
the ENERGY STAR

Toner consumption
EconoMode uses less toner, which might extend the life of the print cartridge. HP does not recommend the full-
time use of EconoMode. If EconoMode is used full-time, the toner supply might outlast the mechanical parts in
the print cartridge. If print quality begins to degrade and is no longer acceptable, consider replacing the print
cartridge.
Paper use
This product’s duplex feature (manual or automatic) and N-up printing (multiple pages printed on one page)
capability can reduce paper usage and the resulting demands on natural resources.
