Quick Start HP NetServer AutoPilot is software that notifies you of problems with your HP NetServer E Series servers. Installation has two parts: Server software and Client software. Steps for installing the software differ depending upon whether you have servers running Novell NetWare or Microsoft Windows NT. If you are an experienced network administrator, the following Quick Start procedures may be all you need to install HP AutoPilot. NOTE Be sure to review the "Required Hardware and Software" section of Chapter 1 before proceeding. Steps for Servers Running Novell NetWare Before proceeding: Identify and list the network names of all the Novell NetWare servers you want to monitor before starting installation. In addition, be sure you have supervisor-level privileges for the Novell NetWare servers you want to include. At the Client Workstation: ¨ Step 1 Run setup at the client workstation Insert the HP NetServer Navigator CD-ROM in your HP AutoPilot Client's CDROM drive. From the Windows Program Manager, run setup.exe located in the autoplt subdirectory. ¨ Step 2 Select an install option For an initial installation, choose the default option, "Install HP AutoPilot with the option to install the Server Software." For servers running Novell NetWare, HP AutoPilot software may be installed on both the client and server(s) while you're at the client workstation. ¨ Step 3 Select HP NetServers to monitor For servers running Novell NetWare, installation of the supporting Server software is also accomplished at the client workstation. From the displayed list, add the HP NetServers you want to monitor to the "Managed Servers" list box. 1

Steps for Servers Running Novell NetWare
Before proceeding:
