Customers are advised to upgrade to XCS 6.250 to mitigate this possible problem. If the issue is encountered while upgrading from XCS 6.200 to XCS 6.250, contact HP support for alternative solutions to address the event. See the customer advisory (c01914371, HP StorageWorks 4000/6000/8000 and 4100/6100/8100 Enterprise Virtual Array EMU communication events are sometimes reported following upgrade from XCS 6.200) for more information. Adding drive enclosures or expansion racks Adding drive enclosures or expansion racks to an EVA must be performed by HP-authorized service personnel. Adding an expansion rack must be completed while the array is offline. Contact HP Services at http://www.hp.com/support for more information. Upgrading in a Windows Key Management Services Environment After upgrading to XCS 6.250, if your Windows Server is being activated via a Windows KMS environment and the server is booting from the array, you must reactivate Windows by clearing the current key and obtaining a new key from the KMS server. To do this, run the slmgr.vbs script with the /ckms option as described in the following Microsoft TechNet article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff793433.aspx NOTE: You only have to perform this task once on each server after upgrading to XCS 6.250. Operating systems For complete information about operating systems and supported configurations, see the Single Point of Connectivity Knowledge (SPOCK) at: http://www.hp.com/storage/spock. You must log in to access SPOCK. If you do not already have an account, select Register to log in on the main page and follow the instructions. SAN support The 4 Gb EVA4x00/6x00/8x00 with XCS for HSV200 and HSV210 are enabled for 4 Gb/s on each FC host path, but will also support 1 Gb/s (with restrictions) and 2 Gb/s FC host paths and components for backwards compatibility. NOTE: 1 Gb path and components have specific configuration requirements. For more information on configuration requirements and support for 2 Gb and 4 Gb EVAs, see the HP SAN Design Reference Guide, which can be downloaded from the following website: http://www.hp.com/support/manuals Click Storage Networking under storage, and then select HP SAN under HP SAN Solutions. Supported Fibre Channel switches For complete information on which Fibre Channel switches are supported on XCS 6.100 or later, see the HP SAN Design Reference Guide, which can be downloaded from the following website: http://www.hp.com/support/manuals Click Storage Networking under Storage, and then select HP SAN under HP SAN Solutions. Supported disks For information about disk drive support, see HP P6000 Enterprise Virtual Array Disk Drive Firmware Support, available on the HP Manuals website: http://www.hp.com/support/manuals Under storage, click Disk Storage Systems, and then select the appropriate array model under EVA Disk Arrays.
