1 Overview Who can benefit from reading this document? Customers with HP Indigo WS6000 Series Digital Presses equipped with an inline densitometer (ILD). This document does not replace the Production Excellence Routines. It gives the customer a standard set of actions to achieve higher color quality results. General notes List of general notes to carry out procedure in this document. 1. Keep the press room temperature at 20 - 25° C (68 - 77° F). 2. Keep the press room humidity at 50 - 70%. 3. Verify that the substrate is optimized and certified. 4. When using a pre-optimized substrate, use the pre-transfer heater only if necessary. 5. Do not replace the PIP foil and the blanket at the same time, unless absolutely necessary. 6. Do not bypass the PIP enhancement unit (PEU), Auto Bias, or Cold Start. 7. For presses with Inline Densitometer (ILD): a. Run the Full Color Calibration wizard before every color-critical job, or once every 6,000 impressions. b. Run the ILD Full Calibration procedure once every 2-3 weeks. c. Run the Ceramic Tiles Cleaning wizard once a week. d. Run the ILD Calibration procedure once a week. e. Define the substrate FaceStock as Non-white when working with Continuous Color Calibration (CCC). f. During a job, frequently run the Auto Bias wizard to maintain color consistency. NOTE: Use an external X-Rite densitometer to perform the ILD Full Calibration. NOTE: Run the Ceramic Tiles Cleaning wizard before performing ILD Full Calibration. 8.
