Cluster Configuration Guide
Introduction
This document defines the server cluster configurations supported by Hewlett-Packard for interconnection
of specified HP IA-32 Servers and HP Rack Storage/12 disk drive enclosure(s), Surestore Virtual Array or
Surestore XP disk arrays with HP MC/ServiceGuard for Linux high availability clustering middleware.
These configurations provide high server cluster availability and minimize single points of failure (SPOFs).
A configuration certified and supported by Hewlett-Packard should be adhered to. Deviations from the
supported configurations can result in an inoperative cluster, an operating cluster with degraded
performance, or hidden SPOFs.
Therefore, deviations are not supported.

MC/ServiceGuard for Linux
Description
Multi-Computer/ServiceGuard (MC/ServiceGuard) for Linux is a specialized facility for protecting mission
critical applications from hardware and software failures. With MC/ServiceGuard for Linux, multiple
nodes (systems) are organized into a cluster that is capable of delivering highly available application
