Compaq does not recommend entering standby or hibernation with a PC Card local area network interface installed. Doing so may lead to unexpected behavior and potentially result in loss of data. Certain PC Card vendors who choose to adopt the latest Proposition 187 - NT Bindings Proposal in their software drivers will perform more reliably when responding to power management events such as standby.
