Third Fan Installation for HP ProLiant ML350 G6 Servers Fan locations CAUTION: To maintain proper cooling, all fan bays must be populated with a fan or a fan blank. To install the component: 1. Power down the server. 2. Do one of the following: o Open or remove the tower bezel, as needed. o Extend the server from the rack. 3. Remove the access panel. 4. Remove the large redundant fan air baffle, if installed. 5. Remove the fan blank from fan bay 3. 6. Install the fan in fan bay 3. Disconnect all power cords to completely remove power from the server. WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the drives and the internal system components to cool before touching them. 7. Install the large air baffle, if removed. 8. Install the access panel. 9. Do one of the following: o Close or install the tower bezel, as needed. o Slide the server back into the rack. 10. Installing the third fan
WARNING:
Eliminate the risk of electric shock by removing all
AC power from the system before installing or replacing any non-
hot-plug hardware option to the system. Disconnect all power
cords to completely remove power from the server.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot
surfaces, allow the drives and the internal system components to
cool before touching them.
To install the component:
1.
Power down the server.
2.
Do one of the following:
o
Open or remove the tower bezel, as needed.
o
Extend the server from the rack.
3.
Remove the access panel.
4.
Remove the large redundant fan air baffle, if installed.
5.
Remove the fan blank from fan bay 3.
6.
Install the fan in fan bay 3.
7.
Install the large air baffle, if removed.
8.
Install the access panel.
9.
Do one of the following:
o
Close or install the tower bezel, as needed.
o
Slide the server back into the rack.
10.
Power up the server.
