Microsoft MPIO with QLogic iSCSI HBA The QLogic iSCSI HBA is supported in a multipath Windows configuration that is used in conjunction with Microsoft iSCSI initiator services and Microsoft MPIO. Because the iSCSI driver resides on the QLogic iSCSI HBA, it is not necessary to install the Microsoft iSCSI initiator. Installing the QLogic iSCSI HBA Install the QLogic iSCSI HBA hardware and software following the instructions in the QLogic installation manual. The QLogic iSCSI HBA is managed by the QLogic SANsurfer Management Suite (SMS). NOTE: After installing the QLogic iSCSI HBA, you must configure the QLogic iSCSI initiator through SMS. The QLogic iSCSI HBA does not appear in the Microsoft Network Connection device list. Installing the Microsoft iSCSI initiator services and MPIO To install the Microsoft iSCSI initiator: 1. Access the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Installation page of the Software Update Installation Wizard (Figure 69). Figure 69 Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Installation page . Installing the QLogic iSCSI HBA

NOTE:

After installing the QLogic iSCSI HBA, you must configure the QLogic iSCSI initiator through SMS.

To install the Microsoft iSCSI initiator:
