or selecting the parent window while a child window was still open. If this occurred (a child window got behind a parent window) the parent appeared nonresponsive until the child window was closed. • Selective restore of Network Properties restored only Syslog information. • When the Configuration Wizard dialog was chosen to change the IP address of the switch and the change was applied, it appeared to the user that the change was made successfully. Connection to the switch using the new IP address failed, however, because the address was not actually changed. Installation instructions For information about installing these products, see the HP StorageWorks 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch quick start installation instructions, HP StorageWorks 8Gb Simple SAN Connection Kit quick start instructions, and other documentation available on the HP website: http://www.hp.com/go/8Gb-SSC. Important information This section provides important information about the 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch. • Simple SAN Connection Manager Support. The Simple SAN Connection Manager (SSCM) application version 2.10 or later can manage 8/20q Fibre Channel switches with active TR_Ports. SSCM displays the remote fabric as a grayed-out switch, but SSCM cannot manage or discover remote switches or devices in the remote fabric. SSCM version 2.0 and earlier versions do not support the management of fabrics that include 8/20q Fibre Channel switches with active TR_Ports and may disrupt communication between the 8/20q Fibre Channel switch and the remote fabric. If you intend to manage the SAN using SSCM, be sure to use SSCM version 2.10 or later, or do not configure TR_Ports. • Connection may not recover after switch port goes offline. Connection may not recover after a switch port is set offline and back online when connected to an HP StorageWorks 81E PCle FC HBA (LPe12000 HBA) or HP StorageWorks 82E PCle FC HBA (LPe12002 HBA) for hosts running VMware 3.5.0. To avoid this, do not include Virtual Machine PWWN in zoning, or use new Emulex driver version elx_7.4.0.39. This driver will be available on the Emulex website and on the VMware website. It is also expected to be released with ESX 3.5.0 U4 as the inbox driver, and be available as an Asynchronous Update CD for ESX 3.5.0 U3. • HBA may not discover storage target on remote fabric. An Emulex-based HBA running on SuSE 9 may not always find targets on remote fabrics after booting the server. To avoid this, use new Emulex driver version 8.0.16.40_p2. The affected HBAs include: • HP StorageWorks 81E PCle FC HBA • HP StorageWorks 82E PCle FC HBA • HP StorageWorks FC2143 • HP StorageWorks FC2243 • HP StorageWorks FC2142SR • HP StorageWorks FC2242SR • HP 4Gb HBA for HP c-Class BladeSystem • HP Emulex-based BL20p Fibre Channel Mezz HBA • HP Emulex-based BL25/30/35/45p Fibre Channel Mezz HBA • Management and configuration of MSA2000fc storage. SSCM version 2.0 or later is required for support of management and configuration of MSA2000fc storage. HP StorageWorks 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch release notes 7
