Shut down the device. If you are unsure whether the device is off or in Hibernation, turn the device on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the device. 3. Disconnect the power from the device by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the device. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 44). 5. If your device has WWAN capability, remove the SIM (see SIM on page 45). 6. Remove the memory module (see Memory module on page 46). 7. Remove the keyboard (see Keyboard on page 48). 8. Remove the hard drive or solid-state drive assembly (see Mass storage devices on page 54). Remove the top cover. 1. Turn the device upside down, with the front toward you. 2. Use a thin, flat tool to release the 4 tethered rubber feet. 3. Remove the four Phillips PM2.5×7.0 screws (1), and the Phillips SP2.0×5.0 screw (2) that secure the top cover to the base enclosure. Before removing the top cover, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the device. If you are unsure whether the device is off or in Hibernation, turn the device
on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the device.
3.
Disconnect the power from the device by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the device.

Remove the battery (see

5.

6.
Remove the memory module (see

7.

Remove the top cover.
1.
Turn the device upside down, with the front toward you.
2.
Use a thin, flat tool to release the 4 tethered rubber feet.
3.
Remove the four Phillips PM2.5×7.0 screws
