Component (2) Power connector Description Connects an AC adapter. (3) Vent (4) USB port Enables airflow to cool internal components. NOTE: The computer fan starts up automatically to cool internal components and prevent overheating. It is normal for the internal fan to cycle on and off during routine operation. Connects an optional USB device. (5) Audio-out (headphone) jack/Audio-in (microphone) Produces sound when connected to optional powered jack stereo speakers, headphones, earbuds, a headset, or television audio. Also connects an optional headset microphone. NOTE: When an audio component is connected to the jack, the computer speakers are disabled. The audio component cable must have a 4-conductor connector. Display components Component (1) Speakers (2) (2) Internal display switch (3) Webcam 8 Chapter 2 Knowing the parts Description Produce sound. Initiates sleep if the display is closed while the power is on. NOTE: The display switch is not visible from the outside of the computer. Captures still photographs and videos.
