Description Hard drive: 320-GB, 7200-rpm 250-GB, 7200-rpm 160-GB, 7200-rpm Hard Drive Hardware Kit (includes hard drive bracket and screws) Spare part number 627731-001 613047-001 622655-001 626589-001 Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the following components: a. Battery (see Battery on page 33). b. Service access cover (see Service access cover on page 36). Remove the hard drive: 1. Disconnect the hard drive cable (1) from the system board. 2. Remove the 3 Phillips 2.0x4.0 screws (2) that secure the hard drive to the computer. Component replacement procedures 39

Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the following components:
a.

b.

).
Remove the hard drive:
1.
Disconnect the hard drive cable
(1)
from the system board.
2.
Remove the 3 Phillips 2.0x4.0 screws
(2)
that secure the hard drive to the computer.
