Viewing the Alert Log

Total Storage is the sum of the storage space on your HP Media Vault's disk drive 1 and disk drive 2, if you have one. It does not include storage space on any devices connected directly to the Media Vault or over the network, such as a USB drive or another computer. ƒ Available Storage Available Storage is the amount of free space on your HP Media Vault. Mounting a new hard drive results in a relatively minor alert status, but a hard drive failure is given a critical alert. A list of HP Media Vault activities are recorded in the Alert Log History. The date, time, and description are associated with each activity. To view the alert log 1 At the computer, click Start, All Programs, HP Media Vault, and then Control Center. 2 On the Tools tab, click Customize HP Media Vault. You are prompted for an administrator name and password if you set one up. For additional information, see Editing System Settings on page 2-26. 3 Click View Log next to System Status to open the alert log. ƒ Read the log. Click Acknowledge to clear the alert notification on the Media Vault home page and in the system tray on network computers. ƒ Click Delete Log to clear the log. 2-23
