System Setup and Boot Access the Setup Utility during the computer boot sequence by pressing the Esc key while "Press the ESC key for Startup Menu" message is displayed at the bottom of the screen, and then pressing the F10 key. If you do not press Esc at the appropriate time, you must restart the computer and again press Esc when the monitor light turns green to access the utility. Computer Setup Menu Heading Option/Description File System Information - Lists the following main system specifications: • Product name • Integrated MAC Address • SKU number (some models) • System BIOS • Processor type/speed/stepping • Chassis serial number • Cache size (L1/L2/L3) • Asset tracking number • Installed memory size/speed/chan About - Displays copyright notice. Set Time and Date - Allows you to set system time and date. Flash System ROM - Allows you to select a drive containing a new BIOS. Replicated Setup - Save to Removable Storage Device and Restore from Removable Storage Device Default Setup • Save Current Settings as Default • Restore Factory Settings as Default Apply Defaults and Exit - Applies the selected default settings and clears any established passwords. Ignore Changes and Exit - Exits Computer setup without saving changes. Save Changes and Exit - Saves changes to system configuration or default settings and exits Computer Setup. Storage Device Configuration - Lists all installed BIOS-controlled storage devices. DPS Self-Test - Allows you to execute self-tests on ATA hard drives. The MBR contains information needed to successfully boot from a disk and to access the data stored on the disk. Master Boot Record Security may prevent unintentional or malicious changes to the MBR, such as those caused by some viruses or by the incorrect use of certain disk utilities. It also allows you to recover the "last known good" MBR, should changes to the MBR be detected when the system is restarted. DriveLock Security - Allows you to assign or modify a master or user password for hard drives. Replace the chassis access panel and reconnect the power cord. 5. Turn on the computer and allow it to start. Resetting the Password Jumper To disable the power-on or setup password features, or to clear the power-on or setup passwords, complete the following steps: 1. Turn off the computer and disconnect the power cord from the power outlet. 2. Remove the access panel. 3. Locate the header and jumper. 4. Remove the jumper from pins 1 and 2. Place the jumper on either pin 1 or 2, but not both, so that it does not get lost. 5. Replace the access panel, and then turn on the computer and allow it to start. 6. Reconnect the external equipment. 7. Plug in the computer and turn on power. Allow the operating system to start. This clears the current passwords and disables the password features. 8. To establish new passwords, repeat steps 1 through 4, replace the password jumper on pins 1 and 2, then repeat steps 6 through 8. Establish the new passwords in Computer Setup. System Setup and Boot

4. To establish Setup password, select
Security > Setup Password
and follow the instructions.

Changing a Setup or Power-On password:

Clearing CMOS
1. Turn off the computer and disconnect the power cord from the power outlet.
2. Remove the access panel.
3. On the system board, press and hold the CMOS button for 5 seconds.
4. Replace the chassis access panel and reconnect the power cord.
5. Turn on the computer and allow it to start.
Resetting the Password Jumper
To disable the power-on or setup password features, or to clear the power-on or setup pass-
words,
complete the following steps:
1. Turn off the computer and disconnect the power cord from the power outlet.
2. Remove the access panel.
3. Locate the header and jumper.
4. Remove the jumper from pins 1 and 2. Place the jumper on either pin 1 or 2, but not both, so
that it does not get lost.
5. Replace the access panel, and then turn on the computer and allow it to start.
6. Reconnect the external equipment.
7. Plug in the computer and turn on power. Allow the operating system to start. This clears the
current passwords and disables the password features.
8. To establish new passwords, repeat steps 1 through 4, replace the password jumper on pins 1
and 2, then repeat steps 6 through 8. Establish the new passwords in Computer Setup.
