Version 10.10 Description This package is a new release of the Smart Update Firmware DVD, which provides a collection of firmware for supported HP ProLiant servers, BladeSystems, and options in an ISO image. This is the final release of the Smart Update Firmware DVD. For more information, see "Enhancements" (page 4). Update recommendation Optional. This the final version of the Smart Update Firmware DVD. The HP Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) replaces the Smart Update Firmware DVD after this release. For more information, see the HP website at http://www.hp.com/go/spp. Supersedes 10.00 Operating systems and servers Supported operating systems are: • Windows: ◦ Windows Server 2008 ◦ Windows Server 2008 R2 ◦ Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard and Essentials • Linux: ◦ Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6 ◦ SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 and 11 • VMware: ◦ VMware ESX/vESXi (offline mode only) All supported servers are shown in the SPP Server Support Guide: http://www.hp.com/go/spp/ documentation. Minimum requirements NOTE: HP SUM requires a true Administrator login, d not an elevated RUN AS Administrator. If you are unable to perform the net use * \\server\ADMIN$ for Microsoft Windows target servers, you do not have sufficient privileges to run HP SUM. To successfully deploy HP SUM on target systems based on a Windows operating system, the following must be available: • A local administrative system with 512 MB of memory • Sufficient hard-drive space of at least twice the file size of the components to be deployed • WMI-enabled Description 3
